Hello, I am John English.  I have been defending people accused of drunk driving since 1985.  I am licensed to practice law in both Michigan and New Hampshire.  My practice is primarily in Michigan.  I have defended DUI /OWI cases in Lansing, East Lansing, Howell, Corunna, Mason, St. Johns, Charlotte, Battle Creek, Jackson, Hastings, Ionia and many other cities in Michigan.  My training in drunk driving defense extends beyond that of the typical criminal  attorney.  For example, I have been trained in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards for field sobriety testing.  Taking the same type of training police officers receives make an attorney better prepared to find the defects in a roadside traffic stop and drunk driving arrest.

Defending a drunk driving case is never easy, and many Michigan criminal defense lawyers don’t really try.  In my practice, I find that attention to detail, an understanding of proper police investigation in a drinking case, and an in-depth understanding of the law gives my clients a fighting chance.  I believe that every client deserves an attorney that will work hard and treat their case as if it was the most important thing going on in their life.  I understand that people sometimes get behind the wheel when they shouldn’t.   We all make mistakes.  My job is to work with you, not judge you, and provide the best possible defense.  Being arrested and prosecuted is a difficult thing to go through.  I will walk with you every step of the way.
